The Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data (SEED) portal is an initiative of the NSW Government in response to community requests for reliable and readily available information about the environment in NSW. SEED includes over 2,400 environmental datasets related to water, land, air, vegetation and threatened species, all available through a single, online source. A built-in online map allows for easy searching of information and overlaying of different data, letting researchers gain an overview of environmental conditions in a particular location.

Our design challenge was to create a distinctive and disruptive brand for Intersekt, Australia's first annual Fintech festival in Melbourne. Intersekt exists to elevate Australia's position as a leader in the global startup scene, and to foster a collaborative and creative global network between leaders in the Fintech sector. The festival includes a showcase of international Fintech speakers. The brand needed to be innovative and attractive to both festival speakers as well as attendees in order to ensure that the event was a success. Intersekt Festival is an event run by Fintech Australia, a national, not-for-profit organisation.

We created a visual identity that brings to life the idea of sharing and enabling environmental data through the use of cartographic elements and visuals. Topographic map lines were used, combined with a set of bold graphic shapes that reference various markers commonly found on maps. We developed brand guidelines and a toolkit, enabling SEED to easily roll out the new identity across all of their publications and presence points.
